Here at Devon Garden Solutions we offer a variety of lawn care services, which are done to a professional standard. We have over 16 years of professional greenkeeping experience on golf courses and we have treated over 100 lawns in the Devon area - so we know what we are doing!
Not only do we treat gardens, but with our knowledge and experience in the fine turf industry we can offer our services to improve all types of sports pitches, including putting greens, croquet lawns and bowling greens.

Treatment 2 - Summer
With the grass now actively growing, we use an increased Potassium fertiliser to encourage thick and healthy growth.
The controlled fertiliser will release directly into the root zone for maximum effect, keeping the grass nourished for 10-12 weeks.
We again spray for common weeds, but targeting the more resilient weeds in their most active growing stage is the key to this application, using a tailor made weed killer.
Treatment 1 - Spring
As the grass starts to grow, it requires the right nutrient mixture to help strengthen the plant - keeping it as strong as possible will limit weed and moss development. Therefore we use a specialised fertiliser containing Nitrogen to strengthen the grass and Phosphorous to promote root growth.
We also spray a broad leaved weed killer to target unsightly common weeds e.g. dandelions, clover, buttercups, daisies etc.
Treatment 3 - Autumn
To maintain a lush, thick grass coverage and encourage root development through the colder months, a slow release fertiliser is applied.
This strengthening will enable the first of two moss applications to be applied. This is the last part of our weed management programme of the year, which will leave your
lawn weed free.
Treatment 4 - Winter
It is important to get the right balance of nutrients into your lawn at this time of year. Our high Potassium liquid fertiliser gives extra strength and colour to the grass before a heavy dose of moss killer is applied.
Keeping moss to a minimum is vital, as it inhibits grass growth. We offer additional services in moss and thatch removal to give the lawn the best possible start to the year.
BESPOKE LAWN TREATMENTS
Some lawns need extra care on top of what the treatment plan provides, so we also offer additional services which may be recommended according to our professional opinion of each individual lawn. Whether your lawn is water logged, patchy, suffering from disease, thin, spongy or full of weeds, we have a treatment that can help.
- Hollow Tine Aeration removes cores, which relieves soil compaction. This allows nutrients and oxygen into the ground, helps drainage and improves root depth.
- Slit Tine Scarification removes thatch and unwanted matter from the surface of the lawn, which is highly advisable for lawns with a high moss content.
- Overseeding and Top Dressing can be carried out on any grass which needs a thicker sward, or needs completely re-establishing.
- Pest Control is available, as pest infestation can be devastating to lawns. We specialise in dealing with the more common pests, e.g. leatherjackets, chafer grubs, but can offer help with many others.
- Disease Control is available to prevent disease from taking over and ruining lawns. We will always check for diseases, particularly at times when grass is most vulnerable.
- Wetting Agent can be applied during those dry Summer months to help you keep a lush green lawn and save on watering.
